01 How much does it cost to build a custom home in Scottsdale?
Our custom homes typically range from $2 million to $15 million, depending on size, site complexity, design sophistication, and finish level. Construction costs generally run $350–$800+ per square foot for the level of quality we deliver. We provide detailed cost estimates early in the process so you have full clarity before committing.
02 How long does it take to build a custom home?
The entire process — from initial consultation through move-in — typically takes 18 to 36 months. Design development usually requires 3–5 months, pre-construction takes 1–2 months, and construction ranges from 12–24 months depending on the size and complexity of the project.
03 Do I need to own a lot before contacting you?
No. We welcome clients at any stage of the process, including those who haven't yet purchased land. Our team can evaluate prospective lots with you, advising on buildability, orientation, utility access, and how well the site supports your design goals. We offer complimentary lot evaluations for prospective clients.
04 Can I use my own architect?
Absolutely. We work seamlessly with independent architects and have long-standing relationships with many of the top residential architects in the Valley. We also offer full in-house design services through our design-build program for clients who prefer a single point of accountability.
05 What is the design-build approach?
Design-build integrates architecture and construction under one team, eliminating the communication gaps and potential conflicts that can arise when the architect and builder are separate entities. This approach provides more accurate budgeting from day one, faster timelines, and a finished home that faithfully reflects the original design intent.
06 How involved will I be during construction?
As involved as you want to be. We provide weekly progress reports with photos and budget updates, schedule regular site visits with your project manager, and invite you to milestone walkthroughs at key construction stages. You'll always know exactly where your project stands.
07 Do you build green or sustainable homes?
Sustainability is integrated into every project, not offered as an add-on. Our standard practices include high-performance building envelopes, energy-efficient mechanical systems, solar-ready design, water conservation features, and low-VOC materials. We can also pursue formal certifications like LEED or Energy Star if desired.
08 What materials do you typically use?
We select materials based on the specific design vision and site conditions for each project. Common choices include rammed earth, natural stone, reclaimed wood, structural steel, custom glass systems, and sustainably sourced hardwoods. Our design team maintains an extensive material library and sources from quarries, mills, and artisan workshops worldwide.
09 What warranties do you provide?
We provide a comprehensive warranty program that includes a one-year full-home warranty covering materials and workmanship, extended warranties on structural elements and major systems, and manufacturer warranties on all specified products and equipment. Our post-construction support team remains available for service requests beyond the warranty period.
10 What areas do you serve?
We primarily build in Scottsdale, Paradise Valley, Fountain Hills, Cave Creek, and the surrounding desert communities of the greater Phoenix metropolitan area. We selectively take projects in other Arizona locations for the right opportunity. Our office is located in Scottsdale.
